They wrote- "Hello, World! It's Plamen from CTRL+D. After deconstructing what information the teaser trailer for #Fallout76 had to offer, I decided to create this breakdown on steroids, as I have come to the conclusion that there is a significant possibility that Vault 76 was originally occupied by teenagers. Why I think so will become apparent as one reads this rather lengthy post. For the research, I've depended on a mix of deduction and conjecture, so understandably accuracy may not always be of the highest order, however I have made every effort to stick to empirical methodology. I do, however, enjoy the very real proposition that I may either be 100% correct, or astonishingly wrong, no matter the methodology behind my work. And If one wonders why I would go through such great lengths for a single post about a game we will learn more about in just 10 days, well... it's because I find this kind of digging fun. :D That's all. So without further ado, allow me to present the overly-detailed breakdown of this game's teaser trailer." -

[Screenshot 01] Findings: - [01f01] - A Pip-Boy (model will be clarified later) lay on the desk in the protagonist's room, showing the date October 27th, 2102 - 06:34 (a.m./p.m.- unclear). Other pertinent info: - [01i01] - The final nuclear exchange which ravaged the world, took place on October 23rd, 2077. - [01i02] - According to Brotherhood of Steel terminal entries from Fallout 3, Vault 76 was supposed to re- open 240 months, or 20 years, after sealing shut. In other words- on October 23rd, 2097. - [01i03] - The events of Fallout 1, take place in 2161, making it first in the chronological timeline of the franchise. - [01i04] - Richard Grey, the man whose party discovered the Mariposa Military Base in June 2102, wouldn't become Fallout 1's lead villain The Master until later that year, and wouldn't become assembling his super-mutant army until 2103. - [01i05] - In the world of Fallout, ghouls are technically immortal, so long as they are not hurt, which means that even by the time the events of Fallout 1 took place, some individual ghouls were already well over 100 years old, and others yet had turned feral, due to a consistent exposure to radiation. Conclusions: - [01c01_i01/i02] - There is an unexplained 5 year and 4 day discrepancy between the date Vault 76 was meant to re-open and the date on which the events of the teaser trailer appear to take place. - [01c02_f01/i03] - If the events of Fallout 76 take place in 2102, they will supersede those of Fallout 1 by 59 years. - [01c03_f01/i04] - If the events of Fallout 76 take place in 2102, it is highly likely that no super-mutants will be encountered throughout the story, as their creation either wouldn't have started yet, or would have just begun, but the great distance between California and West Virginia would have prohibited such encounters by virtue of geography. - [01c04_f01/i05] - If the events of Fallout 76 take place in 2102, it is likely that the player may meet some ghouls born before the war, who still maintain their sanity. An extremely rare occasion in the centuries after the Great War covered by previous games. -

[Screenshot 02] Findings: - [02f01] - An aged Jangles the Moon Monkey toy lay on the bed in the protagonist's room. - [02f02] - An assortment of items, including a tool box, a toy car, a pair of binoculars, a baseball glove, a baseball ball and a compass lay underneath the bed in the protagonist's room.- [02f03] - A weathered backpack lay on top of the bed in the protagonist's room. Other pertinent info: - [02i01] - Some people on the web, have likened the hat on the bed to that of the Mysterious Stranger. Conclusions: - [02c01_f01/f02] - The assortment of items would appear to indicate that the room belongs, or used to belong, to a child. - [02c02_f03] - The state of the backpack may indicate that it has seen its fair share of travel into the wasteland. Regular wear and tear of such magnitude, stemming solely from prolonged in-vault use appears unlikely, given the pristine state of many other items within Vault 76. -

[Screenshot 03] Findings: - [03f01] - A moving cartoonish mural, indicating the time of day, is affixed to the wall in the protagonist's room. - [03f02] - A set of golf clubs lay against one of the walls in the protagonist's room. Other pertinent info: - Conclusions: - [03c01_f01] - The cartoonish mural further supports the supposition that the room belong, or used to belong, to a child. - [03c02_f02] - [SUSPECT INFO WARNING] The set of golf clubs may give a small amount of credibility to the following unverified posts, https://i.imgur.com/qQGqBdb.png, which state that firearms will take a backseat to melee weapons in the game's combat system. This conclusion, if correct, can then be used to further support the theory that Vault 76 was originally occupied by teenagers, as it is rather unlikely that firearms would have been issued for minors. -

[Screenshot 04] Findings: - [04f01] - Two chairs lay near a bookshelf in the protagonist's room- one holding a harmonica, the other-supporting an acoustic guitar. - [04f02] - A board game called Unstoppable Shindig! lay on top of a coffee table in the protagonist's room. The game's box claim it to be made for the whole family, allowing up to 5 players to play at once. Other pertinent info: - Conclusions: - [04c01_f01/f02] - The presence of two chairs, two musical instruments and a family board game, may indicate the past, or potentially present, presence of at least one other character within Vault 76, besides the protagonist. This could potentially be an allusion to the purported co-op or even multiplayer nature of the game. -

[Screenshot 05] Findings: - [05f01] - An assortment of board games lay on the bookshelf in the protagonist's room. - [05f02] - A US tercentenary celebration poster hangs off a wall in the protagonist's room. - [05f03] - A Mini-Nuke lay on the bookshelf in the protagonist's room. Other pertinent info: - [05i01] - Both in real life and in the world of Fallout, the United States of America gained independence from the British Empire in 1776, hence the tercentenary celebration in 2076 and the number given to the Vault- 76. Conclusions: - [05c01_f01] - The assortment of board games further strengthens the theory regarding the past, or potentially present, presence of at least one other character within Vault 76, besides the protagonist. - [05c02_f03] - The presence of a weathered Mini-Nuke further strengthens the theory that the protagonist may have partaken in previous trips to the wasteland, prior to the events of the trailer. -

[Screenshot 06] Findings: - [06f01] - A running TV broadcast, or more likely a recording, shows a man talking to a group of slender, young-looking people, who are assumed to be the subsequent dwellers of Vault 76. His first line: "After the fighting has stopped, and the fallout has settled, you must rebuild." His second (at the end of the trailer): "In Vault 76, our future begins." - [06f02] - An assortment of weathered rusty toys, lay on top of the TV table. - [06f03] - Three tattered magazines lay on the shelf of the TV table. Two issues of Scout's Life and one issue of the Backwoodsman. Next to them, a model of a spaceship, identical to the UFO which crashed in Fallout 4's Commonwealth area. Other pertinent info: - [06i01] - The spaceship model's design aligns with the design of alien recon craft belonging to the then still orbiting Earth, Mothership Zeta, central stage for Fallout 3's Mothership Zeta DLC. Conclusions: - [06c01_f01] - The slender figures of the people the man is talking to, alongside the clement yet direct words he is using, and the fact that this speech apparently happened during peace time, some weeks, or possibly months, before the nuclear exchange, further strengthen the theory that the original dwellers of Vault 76 were children, and more specifically teenagers. - [06c02_f02/f03] - The presence of rusty toys and tattered survival-oriented magazines, further strengthen the theory that Vault 76 dwellers, and quite possibly the protagonist himself, have already been on excursions into the wasteland, prior to the events of the trailer. -

[Screenshot 07] Findings: - [07f01] - Somewhere within the vault, there is a dedicated trophy case. - [07f02] - There is a multitude of awards within the case and some of them are rather peculiar. They read as follows: > (bottom-left): BEST LOOKING HAIR > (bottom-centre): CLEANEST TOILET AWARD (shaped like a toilet) > (bottom-right): Performance Award - Vault Hall Monitor - In recognition of loyal and dedicated service towards the order and safety of our community. - Vault Tec > (middle-left): Outstanding Achievement Award - In appreciation for your commitment and dedication to our isolation program. Sacrificing many so some can live. > (middle-right): Excellence in Bravery - In recognition of the canned mystery meat experiment. You volunteered to eat when no one else would. We are proud of you and glad you are not dead. > (top-middle): Annual Vault Halloween Costume Contest - 1st Place Other pertinent info: - Conclusions: - [07c01_f01] - The existence of a trophy case may serve as yet another indicator as to the age of Vault 76's occupants, given that it's common practice for US high schools to have trophy cabinets not unlike this one. -

[Screenshot 08] Findings: - [08f01] - A rusty, but fully assembled Giddyup Buttercup sits beside one of the washing machines. Other pertinent info: - [08i01] - According to Fallout 3 terminal entries and an audio recording found aboard the Mothership Zeta, some time around 2069, then assistant CEO of Vault-Tec Giles Wolstencroft was abducted by the aliens whilst conducting an inspection of the Vault 76 work site. Conclusions: - [08c01_f01/i01] - [MAJOR CONJECTURE WARNING] There is a very slight possibility that the abduction of Giles Wolstencroft during the work site inspection of Vault 76 may have had something to do with the presence of a fully assembled Giddyup Buttercup there, as the Mothership Zeta DLC has clearly established the fact that the aliens have an obsession with that particular toy, having stashed 109 complete copies aboard their ship. My theory is that the Zetans assume the robotic pony to be some form of advanced weapon due to Wilsom Atomatoys' previous association with the United States army. This may explain why they have stashed so many units aboard Zeta, and why they appear to become elated when one of their captives- a little girl named Sally, recognises the toy. Perhaps they see that as a sign that she, and possibly other kids down on Earth, know how to operate this "weapon". -

[Screenshot 09] Findings: - [09f01] - An invitation message is received on a terminal within Vault 76. - [09f02] - An assortment of electronics parts, including what looks suspiciously like two PCIe add-in-cards of some sort, next to more traditional electronics components. Other pertinent info: - Conclusions: - [09c01_f01] - Should one make the logical assumption that the terminal is in the protagonist's room, only one spot in a supposed rectangular room remains for it, and that is in the corner opposite to the one which the door is near. - [09c02_f01] - Many people assume that this invitation message hints to the potential co-op, or even multiplayer, nature of the game, however I posit that due to the flying confetti and the party hat Vault Boy is wearing, this is much more likely to be an invitation to the Reclamation Day party. What I can not explain about this is the time discrepancy. - [09c03_f02] - This assortment of electronic components in various states of disassembly, may hint towards a possible tinkerer personality trait of the protagonist. -

[Screenshot 10] Findings: - [10f01] - A dining table which has been set for, and still holds the leftovers of, a two-person meal. - [10f02] - A dog bowl. Other pertinent info: - Conclusions: - [10c01_f01] - The presence of a two-person table and a two-person meal, may indicate the past, or potentially present, presence of at least one other character within Vault 76, besides the protagonist. -

[Screenshot 11] Findings: - [11f01] - A giant poster with the words Celebrate Reclamation Day! and an image of an elated Vault Boy leaving a vault, hangs over Vault 76's main hall. - [11f02] - There is a large amount of bunting and the ground is littered with confetti. - [11f03] - There is a mini European football field in the middle of the vault hall. - [11f04] - Cardboard Vault Boy cutouts are directing dwellers towards the lower section of the vault hall. - [11f05] - There are balloons strewn about the hall. Other pertinent info: - Conclusions: - [11c01_f02/f05] - Although the scene would indicate that the Reclamation Day party had just ended, it is unclear to me whether or not some time has passed between the departure of the other Vault 76 dwellers and that of the protagonist. It is possible that due to the GameBryo engine's limitations, the scene of a party long-held since, appears as if it had been held only recently. Chief culprits here are the balloons, which should have deflated if a long time had passed, yet the engine may very well be incapable of visualising that, hence the perfectly inflated balloons, possibly years after the party had been held ( to be more precise, I'm thinking 5 years and 4 days after it. ;) ) - [11c02_f03] - The mini European football field may offer yet more evidence as to the tender age of the vault's initial occupants. - [11c02_f04] - Exactly in accordance with the Brotherhood of Steel terminal entry from Fallout 3, a pair of cardboard Vault Boy cutouts appear to be directing dweellers to the lower parts of the hall, and perhaps by extension, the exit. -

[Screenshot 12] Findings: - [12f01] - The skin on the hands of the protagonist, as well as the overall physique, indicate an adult male. - [12f02] - The Pip-Boy's identification plate lists it as a Pip-Boy 2000 Mk.VI Other pertinent info: - Conclusions: - [12c01_f01] - A male between the age of 30 and 43 would fit the visible skin complexion, and may support further the theory of a child-occupied Vault 76, if they entered it between ages 5 and 18. -
